Treasurer Report: Alison
reported that our current balance is $12,816.58.
February Minutes: Approved.
Topic for Discussion:
Budget cuts purposed for federally
funded ECE
Programs… How does this affect
private/faith based programs and what can we do to help the families in our
communities who can’t afford preschool/childcare?
Joy
encouraged everyone to vote for preserving ECE programs.
Joy then asked
everyone to consider what we, as an organization, could do. She felt that the Church should play a role
in helping families in need and as a Christian organization we should too.
Some
suggestions were: Fundraising, an ECCDA Scholarship Board, churches “adopting”
a family, and churches without schools could support an ECCDA school by
providing scholarship funds for Christian education.
We decided
that this was definitely something to consider and pray about how we might make
a difference in the future. Topic was
tabled for future discussion.
Another question asked was, “Do we
tithe as an organization?”
The answer
was no. Should we?
